Transport access

Roads:

Direct motorway access, north-south-motorway A 1/48 Cologne – Wittlich – Trier- Saarbrücken. Eifel motorway A 48 Montabaur-Koblenz-Wittlich-Trier-Luxembourg.
The motorway A 60 coming from Belgium joins the A 1/48 near Wittlich the continuation of which to Rhine/Main and Rhine/Neckar is under construction as the new B 50. Wittlich is the intersection of federal highways B 49 and B 50 (east-west-link Eifel-Rhine/Main-area). Good local connections via state and district roads.

Train and bus services:

Wittlich lies on the Saarbrücken-Trier-Koblenz line (stop for ICE and IC services). Thanks to the Trier Region integrated transport system there are good bus links to the Eifel, Moselle and Hunsrück.

Waterways:

It is possible to transport bulk goods on the Moselle navigable waterway into the Wittlich economic area.

Air traffic:

The Trier-Föhren airfield is 18 km distant from Wittlich (tonnage: 15 t / runway: 1,200 m).
